Beach Retreat 2011 - Hangin' With God






Our Beach Retreat is almost here!! I know there has been a lot of anticipation about schedule, theme, location, etc. I am finally able to reveal all of that and more. Please let me know if you have additional questions...

Friday, August 5th through Sunday, August 7th.



Leaving church at 9am Friday. Returning to church approx. 4pm on Sunday.

Springmaid Beach Resort (Southern end of Myrtle Beach - http://www.springmaidbeach.com/)



Cost



$90 for room and Saturday breakfast and lunch. Due Wednesday, August 3rd.



Money to Bring



$10-$15 We will eat fast food lunch on the way there and back.



$20-$25 We will eat out for Dinner on Friday and Saturday nights.



Discretionary: There will be opportunitites to play putt-putt on site at hotel(optional) as



well as money you many want to have for souvenir shopping, arcade games, etc.

Carowinds!!

Many of our youth have requested that we go to Carowinds together this summer. Specifically on a day when no other events like a concert are planned, so that we can just go and play. That wish has been granted!

Here are the deets...

Date: Saturday, July 16

Time: We'll leave the church at 9:30am and return approx. 10:30pm.

Cost: $42.00. Due by Wednesday, July 13. (No charge if you have a Season Pass).

Food: Lunch - Sandwiches and chips will be provided. Dinner - You will need to purchase in the park, approx $7-$10/person. (Options include Chick-Fil-A, Country Kitchen, Joe Cool Cafe, and many others).

Permission Forms: Located on door of Drew's office OR can be picked up from Gail in church office during office hours.

What to bring: Appropriate Swimsuit if you plan to spend time at waterpark (included in admission price), Money for dinner in park, Money for any extras such as games or souvenirs, Sunscreen. Lockers are available to rent, otherwise you will need to be vigilant in keeping track of your belongings while you ride, swim, etc.

What to wear: If you have an orange MissionQuest 2011 t-shirt - wear that (if not, make an effort to wear an orange t-shirt), comfortable shorts, and athletic/tennis shoes (no flip flops or sandals).

MissionQuest 2011








Where will you be“leaving your mark on Charlotte?”
When: June 20 – 24, 2011
Where: Meeting at Candlewyck Baptist Church and extending out into the community.
Time: 8:00am – 7:30pm daily
Fee: $40 per participant before April 15, 2011 - $50 per participant after April 15, 2011.
Meals: Provided for each participant daily.
Available Mission Sites: Construction & Yard Work, Social Ministry, Creative Ministry, Children’s Ministry and Sports & Recreation.

MissionQuest 2011 is a great way for teenagers to get involved in and learn about living a life of missions in their community. This camp sponsored by Candlewyck Baptist Church and partnering with the Metrolina Baptist Association invites youth ages 12 to 18 to be a part of this week of missions in Charlotte. Just think how God can use us to leave our mark of His love on Charlotte.

Fuge Winter Camp 2011 News!!


Fuge Winter Camp will be returning to the NC Mountains at Ridgecrest Conference Center in twenty-eleven. There was a slight concern that may not happen, but the date has been confirmed. Better yet, Candlewyck will be attending!! The dates are March 11-13, so go ahead and mark your calendars now and start saving your $$.
