Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules.

Opportunity for Service Alert!!

Have you felt the Holy Spirit compelling you to serve people and help spread the Good News?

Well, 2 great opportunities have been made available for you to do so.

1> Lottie Moon Christmas Offering Auction and Dinner - On December 1 you may volunteer your time and talents to be auctioned off. Examples of auction items may be babysitting or pet sitting. You may be good at math. If so, why not auction off a tutoring session for a younger student? Do you know how to operate a rake? Yes? Then volunteer a 1 hour raking session. The opportunities are many and diverse. I know there are a multitude of talents represented by our youth that God would love for you to use! Another opportunity to help raise money for missions is to help prepare, serve and clean up for the dinner. Questions about this event can be posted as a comment on this blog or you can contact Gail @ GailNock@aol.com. For more info on the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering in general, visit http://www.imb.org/main/give/page.asp?StoryID=5428&LanguageID=1709 .

2> Laps of Love will be visiting the Avante Retirement Home on December 7. As a group, we will present the Christmas story in a creative way. Also, we plan to perform and interpretative movement. Prior to the visit, Mandy is going to have a card-making session to bring Christmas cards to the individuals in the Home. This is one of the service opportunities that was overwhelmingly sought by those attending the BIG PLANNING EVENT. Your participation is greatly desired.
